One cool chick

Livia got sunglasses while we were out shopping. She didn't seem opposed to them but she only had them on for a few minutes when we got home.

A Night on the Town

We decided to do some shopping and a trial-run at a hotel Saturday. We went to the plaza in Kansas City for lunch, shopping and a relaxing night at a hotel where we couldn't do laundry, clean, etc...Livia did a great job but it was strange to sleep in the same room with her again. She was told how cute "he" is while we were out. Sigh. I guess people think little boys wear rainbows and flowers on their shirts.

Reading is Fun!

Livia loves to read. Her favorites are the Little Quack books, On the Night You Were Born and her animal books. She even has a few she likes to read all by herself.

Prunes

Livia had to eat prunes last week. She doesn't seem to really like them but she ate them anyway. In case you're wondering it's difficult to find organic baby prunes and it's difficult to clean up too!

New accessories

This year scarves are in but since Liv is too little to wear them she has other accessories for her neck.

Motor boats eat too

There's nothing better than having rice cereal spit back on you by a baby motorboat.

Hillbilly Baby

Someone got a tooth! Then a week later we found another one! So far she hasn't figured out how to use them (Mommy is VERY grateful). The only time you really get to see them is when she's crying so we hope we rarely have to see them. Sorry you can't really see them in pictures but they are there.

Livia's friend Jackson

Livia finally got to meet Jackson Fish during the Big XII tournament. We had some friends over to watch the game and Jackson came over. Livia kept trying to reach for him, I'm pretty sure she wanted to chew on him. They were so darn cute!

More from her first solids

She really did get some in her mouth!

Preparing for the First Solids

Saturday night was Livia's first bowl of rice cereal. It's just as stinky and icky looking as Mommy remembered from the old babysitting days. We've been putting her in her high chair for a few minutes everyday to get her used to it and today she got to play with a spoon until she threw it on the floor and Abby decided it made a great cat toy. She wore the bib Aunt Benny brought her from Italy and was all ready to go. Is anyone surprised that our little eater liked it? She ate half of the bowl and probably would've eaten more but Mommy and Daddy want to take it slow.

Long Walk

We've been going on nice long walks since the weather has taken a turn for the better. Saturday it was a bit overcast which works out better so the sun isn't in Livia's eyes. It's also great light to snap a few pictures.

Saturday Fun

On Saturday we watched the Jayhawks run the Tigers out of the gym, went for a nice long walk, practiced sitting up and read a few good books. We had a fun day but Livia did decide she was WAY too cool for a nap - Mommy and Daddy didn't find that cool at all. Oh well, at least it was on a day when we were both home.

Lunching and Walking/Shopping on Mass

Daddy had to go out of town for work on Thursday so Mommy and Livia went to Mass Street for lunch, shopping and a nice long walk. We had an eggplant panini and a salad at 715 before getting Livia's baptism dress and some spring shoes. We took a nice long walk and ended our trip with a trip to the book store to pick up the second book in the "Little Quack" series. We had a very fun afternoon.

Walking in my Christmas jacket

Livia got a very warm (and cute) jacket from Grandma and Grandpa - it's perfect for when we take our walks in our jammies. The other day she fell asleep on her walk so we just left her in the jacket and she woke up so hot she ended up being naked baby for the rest of the evening.
