Another Big Monday

Today we have Livia's four month check-up. She woke up with a bit of a rash (doesn't seem to bother her but it sure bothers Mommy) and blue hands so it's a good thing she did it today since we'll be at Dr. Riordan's anyway. Today she gets shots but a shot is better than the whooping cough. Bobi is coming this afternoon to help Mommy with what is sure to be an epic meltdown.
Here are some more motor boat pictures.

4 Months Old

Yesterday Livia turned four months old. I can't believe it - time really does fly. She's getting so big - she's almost out of 3-6 month clothes already. She celebrated by hanging out with Daddy in the morning so Mommy could get a little nap, sitting in the high chair while Mommy baked a cake, cookies and cupcakes and then she watched the KU game. She still had to get in her workouts - tummy time, the jumper and sitting time. She's a busy girl.

Fun toy

I can't remember who gave this to us at a shower but thank-you again. She tries so hard to get the whole thing her in mouth.

Someday when Livia is Queen of the World

This is what our coins will have on it. Mommy is very bad at pictures when trying to hold a camera in one hand and a very wiggly baby in the other.

Who's that cute baby?

Probably one of my favorite pictures we've snapped of Livia.

Big Monday

Last Monday was the 10th Anniversary of Mommy and Daddy's first date. Bobi came to stay with the Prankster Baby while we had a nice dinner at Angler's down on Mass Street. When we came home Livie was watching her Jayhawks roll over Texas. As you can see she got very excited cheering for her team!

Motor boats and spitting

When she's not spitting, teething or smiling Livia is a baby motor boat. She will do this all day. I hope the video works (sorry about my annoying baby voice).

Happy Tummy Time

Maybe it's knowing that she can just roll out of tummy time but lately she's been loving it! She just props herself up on her chubby elbows and looks around. The world looks very different from that perspective.

How do you get out of tummy time?

By rolling from your tummy to your back! She did it again and this time she meant to. Of course I did not have the camera ready but she officially started rolling over this last weekend. She's such a big girl. We also have a fun new game, Mommy lays on her back and Livie is super baby - flying through the air with the greatest of ease until she spits up down the back of Mommy's shirt (although it is a nice break from the spit up down the front of Mommy's shirt). She just giggles and smiles the whole time - she smiles so much we almost got a picture of it!

Chapped hands

Livia is now officially in the "everything goes in my mouth" phase of life. As a result, her little hands are just chapped beyond belief. We put her gloves on every now and then but it doesn't really help - they just end up soaked so they rub on her skin anyway. When she knocks her paci out she usually sticks her thumb and pointer finger in her mouth. She's a funny baby.

Jumper

Papa and Gigi got Livie a jumper for Christmas. Daddy put it together a couple of weeks ago. Livia has unbelievably strong legs but it turns out she's just a little too short for it still so we put a pillow under her feet. She likes to look at all of the bells and whistles on it but so far she hasn't caught on to the jumping part yet. Mommy's favorite part is the animal/music group of buttons; there are 5 different animals, push it once and the animal makes its noise, a second time it says the name of the animal, a third time is the animal name in Spanish and the fourth is a song. Four of the five are classical songs (it is Baby Einstein afterall) but the fifth one is Old McDonald - it so doesn't match at all but that doesn't bother us one bit!

More from Iowa

These are pictures my grandma took when we were in Iowa. Livia has done a great job in the car whenever we go up to grandma and grandpa's and Mommy doesn't want to brag but so far she's yet to drag her daughter into a restroom on the way up.

Exersaucer and a Lazy Saturday

Last Saturday we had a very lazy day around the house; we made a bunch of soup in the crockpot and watched basketball.

Liv has been spending more time in her exersaucer. She does a great job of holding her head up but she's still a little too little for all of the bells and whistles that come with it. Is there anything Baby Einstein makes that isn't at our house?

Most recent trip to Iowa

Mommy took Livia to Iowa to see Grandma and Grandpa while Daddy was in Florida for work. We missed an ice storm by one day when Grandma had a snow day from school but at least the roads were clear when we drove up. G.G., UZ and Aunt Leslie all came out to see the Livster. We had a great visit and for some reason she really liked her tummy time in Iowa; maybe it was her new sleep gown - when Mommy's friends Benny and Sara were visiting we found one with meerkats on it. You'll notice the drool faucet turns on when she's on her tummy now.

Mommy back to work

Mommy's been working whenever she can find time from home but we really start next week. Sarah will start coming to the house so I can work from home; I've known Sarah since she was a little girl when I used to babysit for her cousins and her dad is from Oakland too. Sarah is now a sophomore at KU and just got back from studying abroad in Europe and New Zealand - our house will be really boring compared to that. For the Danish relatives, you'll be happy to know that Sarah spent a week in Denmark over the summer :) Bobi, Livie's grandma, will be at the house with her on Tuesdays while Mommy does her long day in the office in Overland Park. We're excited to get going - KU Med is keeping Mommy and her partner really busy.

Visit from Papa Steve

A few weeks ago Papa Steve brought dinner and came to visit Livia for a few hours. Livia sure had fun!
