Going to Uncle Tyler and Aunt Courtney's Wedding

We opted to fly to Wisconsin for Uncle Tyler and Aunt Courtney's wedding. I'm still convinced we made the right decision to fly but it was a LONG day. The day started off great, check-in online before we left, even paid for our bag to be checked before we left. Well, the sky cab wouldn't take our bag - our flight was now 4 hours delayed. Luckily Livia found the escalator very entertaining and we got to break in her DVD player. She did a great job on the plane and an even better job when the rental car made us wait 45 minutes, even the car should've been waiting for us. In the end we made it, each had $100 vouchers to the airline, we got free gas and upgrade for the rental car and got a room upgrade at the hotel. We had a fun weekend celebrating with family and friends.

A Nice Visit with Emma and G.G.

Cousin Emma came to visit from Virginia this summer for a few days. She and Livia hit it off! We played with G.G.'s doll house, had dinner with UZ and then went to the zoo to hit the butterfly house. Livia had a lot of fun!

Sorry - Mommy is Slacking Off

We got really busy in the month of September. Uncle Tyler and Aunt Courtney got married, Mommy ran the humane society auction and we had a KU football game sprinkled in. One of the last weekends of summer Papa and Gigi came to visit and go to the pool with us. We had a lot of fun! The best part was running around on the putting green after dinner. Livia still asks for the pool and knows whenever we get within a 5 block radius.

Sometimes you just need a cold one

Livia helped Mommy, Namma and Aunt Leslie throw a bridal shower for Aunt Courtney at the lake. While the ladies showered Courtney the guys went golfing with Uncle Tyler. Since most people spent the night they dropped their bags and cold beverages off before golf. Livia decided it was 5 somewhere, grabbed a Bud Light and went to relax in baby Korie's bouncy seat.

She doesn't always have to drive. Sometimes she just likes to cuddle up with Daddy.

Captain Liv

The whole family has been on the road alot this summer, except for Abby and Cleo who had the nice pet sitter come and visit them. Mostly our trips have been to Iowa and the lake. Livia is now a certified boat captain and has the greatest boat wave ever.

4th of July

While Mommy went to a wedding in Kansas City Daddy and Livia went to see Bobi and Papa and Gigi for a few days. Livia had lots of fun at the pool and Papa and Gigi's. Daddy said it took some patience but she's a water girl now.

Ready for the Pool

Last summer we couldn't get this kid out of the pool; this summer has been a different story. She wouldn't get in for about a month. She would just sit on my lap, trembling and peeing on me (really - swim diapers just hold the pooh in) before I would give up after 20 minutes and get a glass of ice water on our way out the fence cursing the extra money we pay every month to the country club for the pool. After a 4th of July trip to Papa Steve and Gigi's pool and the pool on the deck at the lake she's finally a swimmer - at least she was until today when she tripped in the pool and went under when she wasn't ready so we'll see how tomorrow goes. Farmer Liv

There is a great new place in Topeka called the Discovery Center. Last month we met Bobi, Aunt Paige, Uncle Mike, Carson and Reece there for a morning of play. They had so much fun! We didn't even get to everything because we got side-tracked in a few areas. One of Livia's favorite things was "driving" the John Deere tractor.

Baby Korie

Livia had a new cousin born in June - Korie Paige. She's not really sure what she thinks about her yet but she does not like it when Namma holds her. Livia will put on a show for Korie and does like her toys.

Swinging

We also went swinging at the park at the lake until Daddy had to yell at big boys who were throwing rocks. I think swinging might be Livia's favorite thing to do at the park!

Merry-go-Round

At the lake we went to play at the park where Mommy used to play. They have an old merry-go-round there (I don't think they put those in new playgrounds anymore). Livia did better than Mommy did; Mommy had to tell Daddy to stop after a few spins.
